Real Women is a campaign that fights against the unrealistic and unrepresentative portrayal of women in popular media. It defines a Real Woman as any woman who chooses to identify as one. It’s as simple as that.

The Logo

This logo was created to be used as the brand’s main logo. It is featured on the website, social media, and would be used on any stationery. Each letterform’s line width varies, just as the appearance of every woman varies. This logo aims to celebrate individuality.

Secondary Logos

In addition to the main logo, each woman who is interviewed writes out the brand name. This written version then becomes part of the brand’s identity, so it constantly evolves as more women are interviewed. This further celebrates the individuality of each woman interviewed and brings representation to the underrepresented.

 
 
 
 
 

Interviews

Eight women were interviewed for this project and each shared how the media impacted them and what makes them confident. Below you can find a video of the interview transcripts, which are found on the website.

 

Self Affirmations

A set of 10 self affirmation cards was created to be used as a downloadable PDF that anyone could access from the website. Each card is designed using a different pattern to celebrate diversity.
